Thank you for this excellent piece, Caroline. It was revelatory and also deeply confirming for this Capricorn Ascendant with a similar family dynamic. I’m so in agreement about the necessity of eldership and re-rooting.
This is really wonderful. I’m approaching my third Saturn 🪐 return and recently established my matriarchal elephant 🐘 herd of my octogenarian Mom, myself, YA daughter (and geriatric female dog 🐕).
At this point I am loosing all interest in the ramifications of healing. Healing, to be healed carries a ginormous assumption, that anybody here really understands what health truly is, or at least might be.
I know the so-called health care industry is clueless.
I find you piece here, on Saturn, at least for me brings up these issues.
The dynamic of wounding, what it drives, what it means, where people go with it.
I shouldn't have said, brought up those issues, I should have said, to be more precise, echoed those issues that are already forming, deep within, because all this is going on within me anyway.
Striking a chord in the vernacular.
I realize that I may have unwittingly switched the emphasis.
I do not think of this as a good or bad event. I think of it in a Hegelian sense, that it is the struggle, and assumptions be damned.
Just to be as clear as I can be, I'm not assigning blame or responsibility to anyone outside myself. Your piece, for me, actually outlined this personal, inner process.
Oh how this piece landed so deeply for me!! So much truth & wisdom Caroline!! There are tons of glimmers in this and I feel seen in your words in so many ways. Will be watching the video later today with a great cup of tea!! An yes to the return to Eldership !!
Thank you so much for this piece. I read it with a lump in my throat and shivers of goosebumps. As a fellow Cap rising with a lot of Aquarius it resonated a lot. This is how I view my astrological practice too. Thank you especially for your beautiful and poignant call to women as elders finding our way back to the supportive ancestral ways.

Another great piece! It was enough to tell me to go ahead and buy a year's subscription.
Anyway, a few things I loved. 1) Your deeper reflections on the depth of Saturn. As a fellow Saturn-heavy native, I've also dug deeper into the Saturn archetype and, yes, there is so much more than most astrologers, especially modern ones, give voice to.
2) The word education---seminary, as seed nursery! As both a writer and an English teacher (ESL for Japanese students) of 20 years, I LOVE learning the roots of words. And, also, it made me appreciate your blog's title---I'm already partial to alliteration for titles, but now that I know the deeper meaning behind your choice, very cool!
3)---well, there is a 3 (and probably a 4, 5, 400...lol), but I've got to sign off now and prepare for a Zoom call. Anyway, I look forward to digging into your archive more, interacting with you and your community and co-creating this wild world we live in as we try to make sense of it all while still caring for each other!
PS---I'm VERY curious about what Neptune in Aries is going to be like. It'd be fun to do some reflecting on how it's shown up here just in this first six weeks. Anyway, I'll probably do some writing on that topic and I hope to see some from you, too!
What a fantastic article Caroline, thank you. It’s the wee hours and I have just woken up, read this and taken your advice and done a deep dive into my own chart which also has strongly felt Saturnian aspects with Capricorn Sun, Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio. I have always respected Saturn as a great teacher and been aware of my own inner wise crone.
Excellent piece and a thought provoking perspective. I've had this love affair with astrology for a long time and I'm finally buckling down at the ripe old age of 65 determined to become more fluent. So I grab every astrology newsletter on substack I can, immersing myself in all of these different perspectives. The one comment in your piece, and trust me there were many!!!, the one that jumped off the page for me is when you said "use astrology for pattern tracking...".
Ages ago I sat once with a gentleman for a natal chart reading who had a PHD in physics; he LOVED astrology. He came to astrology through a very circuitous path. It was in and of itself a fascinating story. This is ages ago. But he had an equally interesting philosophy or theory about the journey of the soul through the houses and through each lifetime and watching the pattern of each soul through that evolution. Anyway, I found myself thinking about my conversation with him as I read your piece. The exercise to pull and examine all of those natal charts in your family and suddenly see the patterns come off the page.... I'm trying to visualize your reaction as you started to see the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. What a highly important way to utilize astrology. Your trauma notwithstanding. Kudos to you; simply a brilliant exercise and I hope to some degree cathartic.
With this reader who consults many an astrology forecast or musing, Saturn Seminary is quickly rising to the top as one of the most profound on Substack. Blessed Be ✨ 🪄
I really enjoyed this Caroline, I’ve got a Capricorn moon and so I really feel your words about Saturn as the matriarch. Working with Saturn is a lifelong journey for me. So much work to do - but lots of wisdom to be gained! Thank you.

Thanks so much Julia, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!

Nice work!
Note: Cronos is not Chronos.
It appears that your community is discovering you, Ms L.
Yes women use power very differently from men, and that is not necessarily a happy, positive thing.
Funny, I don't think of the male as opposite the female, I see them both more as tones, shades of a higher radiance.
Best wishes on your journey.
Really appreciate all your support 🙏

Too much to write, it occupies my dreams.
Sorry to hear it’s brought up these thoughts for you Mike 😔

Thank you for saying you’re not here to perform Astrology but to live it instead.

Great praise indeed Tina. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kind words.
My face when seeing patterns emerge when looking into family natal charts looked something like 😲

Thanks Charlotte 😊
Resonates deeply, grateful ❤️
Beautifully written and so relevant to me right now. I look forward to watching the video later. Thank you. 💖
