The AI Phenomenon and Astrological Transits: A Personal Perspective

I'm fascinated by the rise in terror associated with artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications which happened along with Pluto entering Aquarius

As AI began dominating conversations, I felt compelled to explore its history. I discovered that the programming language Algol is closely linked to AI. This connection led me to anticipate a significant AI-related incident during the Uranus/Algol conjunction, given Uranus's association with sudden changes and technological advancements. However, nothing notable has occurred, unless we consider the Crowdstrike outage, which might have had an AI angle.

Reflecting on this, I now believe that the fear surrounding AI is exaggerated, particularly with Pluto moving into Aquarius. Pluto has a knack for amplifying issues and Aquarius is tied to technology and the future. This transit might be inflating the perceived threat of AI beyond reality.

In my work in business transformation, I often collaborate with AI contractors, implementing AI in practical applications. Despite the hype, I haven't been overly impressed with its capabilities. AI is known to "hallucinate”, this simply means makes things up. In addition to this it is clear that AI's are now self-training on their own outputs. This means AI is stuck in a loop, producing nonsense based on its previous nonsense—essentially babbling to itself.

The journey AI takes from being "grown" to being "tamed" is intriguing. When experts talk about adding "guardrails," it’s about setting boundaries to ensure AI behaves within acceptable limits. These guardrails are required because of AI's tendancy to hallucinate and its struggle with readily available facts. For instance, I have asked it to list upcoming eclipses and it confidently provides completely wrong dates, I have tested this with different AIs, different questions and at different times. Despite the errors, the information looked legitimate, which is concerning.

The Role of Uranus and Algol

Uranus, known for bringing unexpected changes and advancements, aligns with technology and innovation. Algol, often associated with intense and sometimes chaotic energy, made me personally speculate about an AI-related event during the conjunction. However, there was a lack of any significant incident while the trasit was exact. We will be revisiting this conjunct again a few times over the next couple of years, maybe a significantly impactful AI event is yet to happen.

Pluto in Aquarius

Pluto’s transit into Aquarius is particularly interesting. Aquarius governs technology, progress and the collective future, while Pluto is about transformation and power dynamics. This combination can amplify concerns about technological advancements, including AI. However, it also offers an opportunity to transform and innovate in ways that benefit society.

Final Thoughts

My experience with AI, coupled with astrological insights, suggests that the current fear surrounding AI may be inflated. Pluto’s transit into Aquarius might be amplifying these concerns, but it also holds the potential for significant positive transformation in technology. As we navigate this evolving landscape, it’s crucial to maintain a balanced perspective, recognising both the possibilities and the limitations of AI. By understanding the broader astrological influences, we can better navigate the hype and focus on meaningful advancements that genuinely benefit all.
